I am excited to announce that effective March 1, 2009 I will be merging with the firm from whom I was renting, and we will jointly be known as Kemp Harvey Goodison Hamilton Inc.

What will this mean? For many of you won't notice any change. You will still get me and my corny jokes (or maybe I'll get better ones). With more resources, I will be able to provide you with even greater service. Some clients will see an increase in their fees as the Kemp Harvey Group bills by the hour for many things, and I was billing by the incident. Conversely, some clients will see a decrease because some of the work will be able to be done by our junior staff at lower rates. For all of you, there will now be someone in the office to assist you on the days I'm out at a client location.

I am currently taking the In-depth tax course to increase the tax knowledge base and be able to provide you with a higher degree of tax service. As well we are implementing some office changes to ensure that communications are answered promptly.

Some changes to note:

• The company name will change. From March 1 on we will now be known as Kemp Harvey Goodison Hamilton Inc.
• Payment terms will still remain the same (and if you're not sure what they are, refer to www.khgcga.com under the Burnaby office)
• In order to accommodate the difference in tax rates, a bare-bone T1 return will be more or less the same price - $69.95. This will be just the efile cover (if you choose efile - it is still optional) and summary with no jacket. Unfortunately I can no longer offer the manually prepared return discount. If you require schedules and printouts, there will be an additional hour charge bringing you to the KHG minimum of $139.95.
• I will still have evening and weekend hours during tax time, and evening hours the rest of the year.
• I will still offer home service, however, with more people, we are able to offer that to a wider geographical area.
• I can still service the Sunshine Coast on my weekend trips (or my trusty husband is up there during tax time when I am not)
• I am still offering a referral bonus.

I have forwarded your name to our office that prepares mail outs so you may see some tax information, newsletters and information that I think might benefit you throughout the year.

This will be anew experience for everyone, especially me, but I am confident that together we can make the transition. With more professionals and greater resources available, I know that you, the client, will benefit from this merger.
